“THE HOMELESSNESS IS OUT OF HAND!” It is Not That Simple and You Could be Next

Have you ever heard from people in Oregon, or even outside of Oregon constantly talk about how there are too many people in Portland that are homeless and that it is a rising problem? They are not wrong and there is more than just the reason as most would say, “People do not care”, “They are just a bunch of druggies!”, “Well that is what happens when you keep Portland weird!”. This is not always the case especially when there is such a rise in AI. AI doesn’t just impact the earth and environment but people’s jobs which is the only way to afford living.

Oregon is number 17 for the highest likelihood of job loss due to AI taking over. If this is not a problem, it should be. Jobs are at high risk every day and you will never know when it will happen to you. I know everyone has had this thought that I'll just get a new job. Then that new job is taken over by AI employees, and it is a never-ending cycle of losing jobs, gaining jobs and losing that said job again. Even then in Oregon right now it is almost impossible to find a new job because companies cannot afford to hire new employees and with the rise of AI there is less need to hire more people based on the fact you do not have to pay AI anything.

It may not seem like something that is happening immediately because it is not happening to you directly, but 30% of job openings have dropped and 60% of jobs have had task changes due to AI doing everything in the past few years. This is increasing more and more and is not a positive for the average person.

So, when you see the rise of homelessness in your beloved city. Remember it is not because of drug use, or irresponsibility, but the fact that AI is changing careers, and lives in a negative way. AI is coming for jobs that require critical thinking, writing, engineering jobs, therapeutic jobs and more. Just remember it could be you on a flip of a dime.
