A Vulnerable World: An Analysis of Thailand, Philippines, and Portland’s Housing Programs

In this video essay, I looked more into the different housing programs created by communities in the Philippines and Thailand and what Portland is currently doing to take action for their local homeless community. The specific programs I looked into were the Philippines' "Modified Conditional Cash Transfer Program," Thailand's "Baan Mankong Initiative," and Multnomah County's "Homelessness Response Action Plan." By looking into other countries, not only do we better understand how homelessness can affect them, but we can also take the frameworks they created and come up with new ways to implement them and expand how we can think about vulnerable communities.
